The Elkins Finance Committee is considering increasing the fire fees to raise more funds for the Elkins Fire Department. City officials are hoping to gain enough revenue so that the fire department does not have to rely on the general fund. "The budget I get is based on fire fees and general fund money," Elkins Fire Chief Tom Meader told the committee on Friday.
